A part of it being classified by the UNESCO as universal heritage and biosphere of the humanity, the Algerian Sahara stands out through exceptional natural and geological characteristics.

The rock engravings of Tassili and Ahagar testify a history which is rich in events of this region whose cultural heritage is to be discovered across its civilizational and archaeological sites.

The Sahara is a tourist region. Numerous facilities were accomplished there, particularly during the seventies. Very attractive products were exploited, such as tours called Oasis and Saoura.

However, the economic mutations and withdrawal of the State from the commercial sphere linked to the climate of insecurity our country witnessed as well as the withdrawal of European Tour Operators considerably reduced this activity. This was not made without consequence on the state of the facilities and related activities, notably handicraft which products were very appraised (as an example the carpets of Ghardaïa and El Goléa, touaregs jewellery).

Today, the policy for the revival of the tourist industry introduced by authorities and the revision of the legislative system governing the management as well as the privatisation of the economic public sector and investment are extremely favourable and attractive conditions for an open and enlarging market.

Beside institutions in charge of the development of investment which arouse thanks to this new policy, the Company for the Management of Participations " Tourism & Hotel Business " whose main mission is to put on the market of partnership and privatisation the public facilities of tourism and hotel business.

The SGP called GESTOUR has numerous partnership projects already under materialization with international large-scale groups and chains.

Its hotels, among which those established in the South, are put on the market of privatisation and partnership. Interest can concern a hotel, but also a block of 3 and more integrated into a tourist tour. This last option has of course our priority, as it constitutes an opportunity or a main line of reflection for an investment plan.

We like, in fact, to draw attention of investors on the existence of tourist products called tours of Saoura, Oases of the Great South… our facilities have been established to meet these requirements.
